Writing

I learned how to write a procedural text and highlight its different features.

First we had to make a flowchart that shows the steps from a procedural text.

Next we had to create a new Google Doc and write your own procedure. Choose something you know to do very well. Your procedural text should have: Title, Introduction, Materials, Steps and Conclusion. Once you finish your procedural text. Highlight the features you have included.

Lastly create a flowchart in Google Draw that matches your procedure.

Here is my work.

FlowChart

We are learning about how to unpack a procedural text and identify its features.

First we answered questions on the jamboard.

Next we created a flowchart. A flowchart means a diagram of the sequence of movements or actions of people or things.

Lastly I finished my flowchart. I showed Miss White because Miss Tele’a was away on Tuesday’s.

I enjoyed answering the questions on the jamboard although some of the questions were hard to answer. I did well on learning about procedural text even though some were tricky to understand. I need to improve on giving a better flowchart meaning.

ANZAC Vocabulary

I learned about Anzac Vocabulary.

First Miss White had to explain what we had to do.

Next I had to get in groups. Cattaleya, Brooke and Me was in groups.

Lastly we had to complete our task. Once we completed our task we had to blog it and explin what we did.

I enjoyed learning about the Anzac Vocabulary. I did well on completing our task. I need to improve on explaining what we had to do in our blog.

Writing a Couplet

Today we learned about Couplet. A Couplet is two lines of a poem that come from one of another.

First Miss Tele’a showed us an example of a couplet.

Next Me and Amorangi were thinking what word we should put in our couplet then we picked karate.

Lastly we were writing a couplet and wrote sentences that rhymed all together.

I enjoyed writing the couplet. I did well on working with Amorangi. I need to improve by adding more details.

Figurative language

We have learning about figurative language in poetry.

First we had to listen to the teacher so we know what to do.

Next we had to copy of the slide and we had to fill in all the slide there was 11 slides we had to do.

Lastly I showed Miss Tele’a and she said great blog it.

I enjoyed listening to the teacher about the topic. I did well on showing Miss Tele’a my work. I need to improve on going faster to fill in the slide.

My Pepeha

This week I did my Pepeha.

First I went on the class site and went on our writing site to find the link to the pepeha. For Example: Pepeha is representing yourself in Maori. Then I answered the questions the questions were: Ko  tōku maunga (mountain), Ko  tōku awa (river), Ko tōku kainga,  (home/community), Ko tōku kura (school), Ko ahau, Ko tōku papa (father), Ko tōku mama (mother), Ko tōku whanau (family name) and Ko tōku ingoa (name).

Next I finished the questions and I moved on to pictures. The pictures were in Maori so I had to find the pictures for my pepeha.

Lastly I showed Miss Tele’a and she told me to practice my pepeha.

I enjoyed practicing my pepeha. I did well on writing my pepeha. I need to improve on writing the questions on the pepeha.

List Writing

I did a task where I have to write three list of what is my favorite sport, what a body builder eats and what does a teacher do.

First I made a google slide. Miss eadie told us if we needed help and don’t know what to do then you can search it up so thats what I did.

Next I checked my spelling and my punctuation. I needed to make sure that it mkes sense and its a interesting list to check it with my reliver.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was doing the list. I need to improve on not searching up things and think of my own ideas.

Digital Anywords

Cattaleya and I did our writing Can Do’s.

First I maked a copy of the Google Drawing and shared it to Cattaleya.

Next we read the rules. The rules are players write words vertically or horizontally. One letter per square. Each new word must be connected to a previously written word. All connections must make sense. We had turns writing our word Cattaleya got 6 points and I got 7 points.

Lastly we blogged our work. We helped eachother blog our work and showed Miss Tele’a.

I enjoyed blogging my work. I did well on helping Cattaleya blog her work. I need to improve on working faster and putting it on the must do.

Video Games

In Miss Tele’a’s writing group we have been writing imaginative recounts.  We chose a picture and could write any story as long as it fit the TREE structure.  Here is my work :

I heard that there was covid I was crying until night. Then I fell asleep crying. I was upset that I couldn’t see my friends but I said to myself I still have my cat.

So I had a good idea. I will call my friends. I called them and then Brooke said I don’t wanna be friends. I was so upset I wanted to stop being a fake friend but I remembered I was not a fake friend Brooke was a fake friend. Later on I was depressed.

At least I had Cattaleya and Me. I was getting more and more upset that Brooke left Me. Next I wanted to get ice cream but it was covid so I delivered ice cream to make me feel better.

I felt upset and nervous. And then I wanted to go to the toilet and then Cattaleya messaged me and said don’t be upset I’m here for you I replied back and said Thank you you’re a true friend. After that I was happy with my best friend Cattaleya.
