Poisonous Animals – SSR Selfie

This week our focus across ALL subjects is to revise.

First I had to make a copy of the SSR Selfie slide, Then I had to pick a book from epic or from our book box. I picked Poisonous Animals/Top 50 Questions. I had to fill in who is the author and the illustrator, List three new words with their meanings in my own words, what is the main topic, and what are three key pieces of information about the main topic. Then I had to link my SSR Selfie into the hand it in.

Summer Learning Journey

Today’s task was to make a list of 20 other things that are yellow like Kowhai’s. This activity is Nineteen, I chose this task because I really think this will be easy and also a little bit hard.

First I made a Google Drawing. Then I gave it a background colour, The colour was Light Yellow, Light Blue, and Light Green because it matches with spring.

Next I filled in the text box with some Flowers and some Animals that are Yellow.

Lastly I blogged.

Spring Learning Journey

Today’s task was to walk around your local area and find rubbish. I saw rubbish outside my backyard so I brang it inside to take a photo for this task.

First I took a photo of the three rubbish I found. The three rubbish I found was a Scrunched up Piece of Paper, A Plastic tape ball, And a M&M Plastic Bag.

Next I wrote what is Rubbish and wrote what is Recycling. Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning them into new products. And Rubbish isn’t just solid waste, like materials such as paper, metal, plastic, glass or food, rubbish can be liquids or gasses too.

Lastly I blogged.

Spring Learning Journey

Today’s task was to create your own daffodil to display at home or give it to your parents. This task is Activity Seven. I chose this activity because I really like flowers and it would be perfect for displaying or giving it to your family.

First I read the instructions. I will explain what the instructions were: Create your own daffodil to display at home, and watch the video below.

Next I grabbed Papers, Pens, Pencils, and White Tape. And I began to watch the video. It was kinda hard but also really challenging.

Lastly I finished my Daffodil and it turned out amazing.

Spring Learning Journey

Today’s task was to make a Fact File about your favorite animal. My favorite animal is Dogs even though I don’t own one. This task is Activity Eleven. I chose this activity because I really like animals.

First I had to make a Google Slide and then I named it a Fact File about Dogs, I put my name underneath the Title.

Next I had to fill in the Google Slide with some facts, Cool tricks that dogs do and Something interesting about Dogs. I will tell you some of the cool tricks they do. Dogs can read our emotions, Tail wags have multiple meanings and Dogs can see more than just black and white.

Lastly I blogged what I did about my Spring Learning Journey. It was really fun but also challenging because I only know some about dogs. I don’t know alot about dogs even though I really like them. I also added some dog pictures.

Here is my work!

Denominator & Numerator

The number on the top of a fraction is the numerator. It shows the number of parts that are selected or spoken about. The bottom number in a fraction is the denominator. It shows the total number of parts into which anything is divided. For example: In the fraction 8/10, 8 is the numerator and 10 is the denominator.

First Miss White talked to us about numerator and denominator and fractions. She said “Fractions have two parts, the denominator and numerator. The denominator is the bottom number in a fraction.

Next Miss White explained to us the 2 tasks. For the first one we had to complete the document called identifying fractions. All you have to do is answer the questions. For example: Taylor has 5 pieces of toast for breakfast every morning. When he has eaten 3 slices, what fraction of his breakfast does he have left? She would have 2/5 because 5 minus 3 equals 2 so 2/5 would be the answer.

Lastly I had to create a DLO explaining the Denominator & Numerator of a fraction. And we also had to explain how you can identify a fraction.

I enjoyed doing this task. I did well at explaining numerator and denominator. I need to improve on doing simple details for other people to understand what I am talking about.

Here is my work!

Think SMART

Cybersmart this week we have been learning about how to think smart. I learned about how to THINK SMART when someone is mean to us online.

First make a copy of the slide and work through them.

Next I was done with my slides. Then I had to create an infographic that will show people what to do when someone is mean online.

Lastly I was done doing my DLO and I’m going to be careful online and remember to be smart and stay safe online.

Changing Matter

I learnt about Changing Matter. Changing Matter is Liquid, Solid and Gas. Gas is made by liquid that is boiled. Solid is made by liquid because if you put liquid in the freezer it will be hard. And liquid is made by solid because if you put solid like ice it will melt by warm water or hot water.

First I made a copy of the slide. Then I answered the questions on the slide before I answered the questions. I read the book first then I answered the questions.

Next I had to do the quiz on Epic. I got 100 percent on my quiz. Then we did a spelling test. I got 13 out of 13 on my spelling text even though the test is hard but i managed to get 13 out of 13.

Lastly I had to make a DLO explaining what changing matter is. It can be an animation, poster or a slideshow.

I enjoyed doing the spelling test. I did well on making a DLO about changing matters. I need to improve on not talking about changing matters.

Co-ordinates

Today we learnt how to do Coordinates. Coordinates are a pair of numbers which are used to determine the position of a point or a shape in a 2-dimensional plane. We define the position of a point on a 2D plane using two numbers, called the x-coordinate and the y-coordinate.

First we have to make a copy of the slides. Rafyel and I were working together. We had to find the location using the map of the Auckland Zoo, we had to find the following places and write their coordinates.

Next when we finished the google slides we had to make a copy of the google doc. We first read the instructions to see what we had to do. The instructions are Using the boxes below, a map similar to the Auckland Zoo. Then fill in the X (letters) and Y axis (number). Fill in your objects in the section below and find the coordinates for these objects. Rafyel did the Google doc and I had to fill it in.

Lastly we had to check our work and blog about what we did when we finished the google slide and google doc.

I enjoyed filling in the coordinates. I did well on working and talking about the work and what we had to do. I need to improve on not talking with other people.

Emotions, Anger

This week we did an anger poster for PB4L.

First we had to answer some questions on a piece of paper and the questions were what does anger look like, how can we stop anger, and is it ok to be angry.

Next we had to sit in a circle with the rest of our class and Miss White would say someone’s name and then we would say one of the questions and then we had to answer and say what we wrote on that question.

Lastly we had to do a google drawing and we had to do a question which was what does anger look like, and how to calm yourself down. Then we had to put down a question and then we had to make a list of what it is or what it does.

I enjoyed doing this task because learning about emotions is fun. I did well at finishing this task. I need to improve on answering the question on a piece of paper.
